I believe that the main purpose in life is to discover who you are and this will lead you to what you are meant to do in your life. I’m no expert because I am still figuring myself out, but I had a major aha moment. This is how I got to that point.
I asked myself:
How do I FEEL everyday?
The most important and easiest path to discovering yourself is to ask yourself this question. We often think we may be on the right path, the path that is presented to us by society and our parents from a young age. But, we hit an age when we begin to question where we really want to be in life. This is something that you can think about at any point in your life. If you think you are on the right path, regardless ask yourself this question about your life so far. If you feel positive about it, that's great! If not, dive deeper into what is making you feel this way. Only then can you understand how to move forward with your life and how to get yourself on the right path-the path that YOU choose.
What do I genuinely want to do? What would I rather be doing?
This is a tough one. Sometimes we live our entire lives not knowing what we genuinely want to do OR we know what we want to do but we live on autopilot and not for ourselves. Do you feel like the days blend together? Maybe there is not as much memory from your day because its redundant and unfulfilling. At the end of the day, life is about living it for yourself and your personal happiness. I wrote about my realization on my other blog here. Although it often takes time to figure out what you want to do, once you do new questions begin to form in your head.
Where do I want to genuinely dedicate my energy?
We are constantly surrounded by energy throughout our lifetime, and we use our energy for everything we do. Whether its a thought or an action, regardless, it takes energy. I wrote a blog post on Transcending Thoughts dedicated to this concept, you can view that here before reading the rest of this paragraph. Using our energy can help us manifest what we want in our life. All of our actions have intentions and therefore impact our future in a way that is unknown to us. This is known as the Butterfly Effect. When you take the time to truly think about where you want to direct your energy in your life, you often find what you are most passionate about and in return you begin to find the puzzle pieces that you had left behind in various stages of your life. Each of these pieces that you find make up your true self.
This is just a beginning post for this self journey series. We are constantly discovering new parts of ourselves. I believe that through asking these initial questions, we can begin the journey of finding ourselves.
